Four Injured Pakistanis Return to Karachi
Four injured Pakistani crew members and the remains of three others from the MT Honour 25 hijacking are heading to Karachi.
The injured sailors Usman Ghani, Aqeel Khan, Ameen bin Shams and Yasir Khan departed from Addis Ababa aboard Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 694 and are expected to arrive Sunday evening.
The remains of Rafi Ullah Khan, Syed Kashif Umer and Mahmood Ahmad Ansari were also transported to Karachi.
The MT Honour 25, a Palau flagged oil tanker, was seized by Somali pirates in April. During the security operation, 21 suspected pirates were apprehended and the crew suffered casualties.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed it remained actively engaged in securing the release of the sailors. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a relief package of Rs12.5 million for the families of the deceased.
