Capital Police Arrest PTI Activists
Capital police detained four PTI activists and workers ahead of the party’s September 27 protest.
The arrests were made under charges including murder attempt, criminal intimidation, rioting, assault on public servants, and obstruction of public duties.
Police received information that the activists were meeting at a property dealer’s office in the E‑16 area. A raid was carried out, during which the activists allegedly tortured police officers, tore uniforms, and took them hostage.
Following the raid, the capital police convened at the Central Police Office to review security arrangements and plan to pre‑empt the nationwide protest. Intelligence units monitored contractors, guest houses, and the residences of PTI members to prevent further arrests.
