4 Terrorists Killed in Dera Ismail Khan
Pakistani security forces killed four terrorists linked to the banned TTP during an intelligence based operation in Dera Ismail Khan.
The operation was carried out after close surveillance of terrorist movements and resulted in the recovery of a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and Afghan currency.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has seen a rise in terrorist attacks, with 54 incidents reported in August compared with 36 in July, a 50 percent increase, according to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies.
Earlier this month a suicide blast at the Aman Mela police checkpost in Darazinda tehsil killed a dozen people and injured 35. Police also foiled a TTP attack on a checkpost in Daraban area with no casualties.
On September 18 a major attack at the old Police Lines in Kohat claimed 23 lives and injured about 100; eight terrorists were killed during an overnight clearance operation.
