337,000 Pensioners Get Proof of Life Certificates
Since its launch on August 20, 2026, Pakistan’s National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) has issued 337,000 Proof of Life certificates to pensioners, making the document free and available through multiple channels.
More than half of the certificates, 174,906, were obtained by pensioners using the Pak ID mobile application from home. An additional 134,521 certificates were issued at Nadra Registration Centres, 24,248 at e Sahulat centres, and 3,585 through mobile registration vans.
Pensioners can obtain the certificate online or at the nearest Nadra service channel, according to their convenience. Nadra warned against misinformation and urged pensioners to contact the helpline or a local office if they encounter problems.
The initiative was launched under the special directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence, Controller General of Accounts and Military Accountant General. It is part of a wider reform that includes a National Pensioners Register, allowing banks to verify pensioners’ status digitally and reducing paper based checks.
In the next phase, Nadra plans to expand the register to include pensioners from other federal and provincial organisations, public sector bodies and private institutions after agreements are reached.
