Houthis Strike Riyadh, Yanbu Facilities
Houthis launched attacks on Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and oil facilities in Yanbu, targeting sensitive sites and Aramco facilities.
The attacks were reported on Saturday, with residents in Riyadh hearing blasts and seeing a large plume of smoke near King Khalid International Airport.
Saudi civil defence issued overnight alerts warning of potential danger, and the airport experienced major disruptions, including cancellations and delays.
A Houthi statement on Telegram claimed the operations used ballistic and cruise missiles and drones, and that the first strike targeted sensitive sites in Riyadh and the second targeted Aramco facilities in Yanbu.
The United Nations Security Council condemned the attacks, and the United States approved a sale of F‑35 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia to deter future threats.
