Antiques Stolen from Nawab Family in Islamabad

Robbers stole more than Rs34 million in cash and valuables in eight separate incidents in Islamabad, police said.

The first theft involved priceless heirlooms and antiques belonging to the Nawab of Bahawalpur’s family, valued at Rs20 million. Items taken included silver and gold articles such as a throne chair, ladder, bowls, statues, gold plates, and a large silver frame bearing the Bahawalpur State crest, along with antique arms and weapons.

Other incidents included a gang that robbed Ali Akbar Naqvi’s house of Rs3 million in cash and gold, holding his parents hostage, and a separate robbery that stole Rs2.3 million from Ali Ashgar’s home. Additional thefts involved a motorcycle and mobile phone from Safi Ullah, and cash and gold from the homes of Mohammad Bilal, Wasim Ikhlas, and Nabil Shahzad.

Police registered a case under Sections 454 and 380 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The family of the Nawab reported the storeroom broken into and the missing heirlooms, and a supplementary list of other missing items will be submitted after inventory.
