Naqvi Warns PTI Against Sept 27 March

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against holding a long march on September 27, urging the party to change course.

Naqvi said the government would not leave any loopholes in its response if PTI proceeded with the protest and would enforce an Islamabad High Court order that bars political parties from occupying public roads and buildings in Islamabad.

He added that PTI’s senior leadership was not in favour of the march and appealed to the party to adopt a different approach, stressing that the government would not allow the protest to shut down the capital for ten days.

Naqvi also noted that the government would not permit any violent group to reach Islamabad and would use all legal options to prevent disruption, while highlighting the potential economic loss from strikes and road closures.

He concluded that a permanent solution would be sought to address PTI’s frequent protest calls and that new provinces were progressing rapidly with public participation.
