Pakistan Delegates Attend Makkah Defense Pact Meeting

Pakistan’s delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, attended the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement meeting in Riyadh on Monday.

The meeting focused on regional developments and ongoing cooperation among member states, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Türkiye. Pakistani officials emphasized the country’s resolve to contribute to regional peace and stability.

Prior to the Riyadh session, Dar visited the Prophet’s Mosque in Madina, where he paid respects and offered prayers before proceeding to the meeting.

The discussion also addressed recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and the broader security implications for the alliance.
