Pakistan protests Indian border firing

Pakistan has summoned the Indian chargé d’affaires to lodge a strong protest over the killing of two civilians by Indian Border Security Force near the Kasur border.

Two unarmed Pakistani civilians were martyred and another was injured when BSF personnel opened fire in the Bedian sector of the Kasur district on Friday.

The Foreign Office said the firing was unprovoked and grossly disproportionate, violating fundamental human rights and international law.

Pakistan demanded an immediate, transparent investigation and appropriate disciplinary action against those responsible, and urged India to respect human rights and border procedures.

The deceased were Azmat Rasool and Mohsin Jutt, residents of Jattan Wali Haveli, Ladhar village. The incident was described as a violation of the border agreement and standard operating procedures.
