Govt vows no violent groups reach Islamabad
The government has pledged to prevent violent groups from reaching Islamabad amid planned protests by PTI and JI.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the administration would keep roads open and block any disruptive activity, citing an Islamabad High Court ruling against road closures.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb warned that strikes and road closures could cost the economy Rs120 billion per day, with the services sector suffering the largest loss.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry expressed concern over PTI’s planned march and urged the government to maintain law and order in the capital.
