Hamas Leader Criticizes Israel Election Tactics

Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya said Israelis will use Gaza’s suffering to campaign in the October 27 election.

He rejected the idea that any Israeli party could change the situation, stating that Palestinians have suffered at the hands of all Israeli parties.

The Israeli premier, Benjamin Netanyahu, is in a tight contest with former military chief Gadi Eisenkot. Netanyahu has vowed not to withdraw troops from Gaza and rejected a US‑led peace initiative.

Hamas also called for unity with Palestinian Authority President Abbas and mentioned a potential alliance with former Fatah figure Mohammed Dahlan. It offered to mediate between Saudi Arabia and Yemen’s Houthis.
