Pakistan Airstrikes Target Terrorist Hideouts
Pakistan carried out calibrated air strikes in Afghanistan targeting terrorist hideouts linked to the banned Tehreek i Taliban Pakistan and Baloch groups.
The strikes were part of Operation Ghazab lil Haq and resulted in the deaths of 22 terrorists, with large quantities of weapons and ammunition destroyed.
Pakistan said the attacks were selective and precise, with no collateral damage reported. The information ministry also highlighted that Afghanistan remains a hub of terrorism that threatens Pakistani security.
According to a UN Security Council‑mandated report, the Afghan Taliban’s continued support for the TTP has increased the frequency and lethality of attacks in Pakistan. The report noted growing links among the TTP, Al Qaeda, Islamic State‑Khorasan and the Baloch Liberation Army.
In September, Pakistan responded to cross‑border drone incursions and major terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with calibrated air strikes and drone strikes in ten Afghan locations, killing more than 28 terrorists.
