Pakistan Finance Minister Meets IMF Mission
Pakistan’s finance minister met the IMF staff mission to review the country’s $7bn Extended Fund Facility and $1.4bn Resilience and Sustainability Facility.
The meeting, led by IMF staff leader Iva Petrova, covered macroeconomic indicators, credit rating improvements and the investment climate amid the Iran conflict.
After the talks, Pakistan will receive about $1.2bn—$1bn from the EFF and $200m from the RSF—by the end of October or early November, subject to IMF waivers for structural benchmark slippages.
Pakistan is currently in breach of the sovereign wealth fund law’s structural benchmarks, which could influence the IMF’s approval of the disbursement.
