SCO Council Meets in Islamabad, Sept 28-30
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s Council of National Coordinators will convene in Islamabad from September 28 to 30 to discuss activities under Pakistan’s chairmanship.
The meeting, chaired by Pakistan’s national coordinator, will bring together counterparts from SCO member states and representatives of the SCO Secretariat to review the programme of activities, preparations for upcoming SCO meetings and events, and other agenda items.
Pakistan, as chair of the SCO Council of Heads of State for 2026‑27, aims to advance the group’s objectives under the theme ‘Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity’. The country is also preparing for the 2027 SCO summit in August, including upgrades to the Jinnah Convention Centre and ensuring 4,000 hotel rooms in Islamabad meet international standards.
