Three Terrorists Killed in KP’s Mir Ali IBO

Security forces eliminated three terrorists in an intelligence‑based operation in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, according to state broadcaster PTV. The operation targeted hideouts of the Fitna al Khawarij, a term used for banned Tehreek‑i‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP) elements. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the killed terrorists. In addition, security forces thwarted an attempt by the terrorists to intercept a ration truck near the Mir Ali Bazaar. The operation is part of the counter‑terrorism campaign ‘Azm‑e‑Istehkam’. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 54 terrorist attacks in August, up 50 percent from July, according to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies. Earlier this month, security forces killed five terrorists in an IBO in Bara and four in Dera Ismail Khan. A major attack on September 18 in Kohat claimed 23 lives and injured about 100 others, with eight terrorists killed in an overnight clearance operation.
