KP CM Blames Foreign Policy for Security Decline
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said the province’s worsening security is a result of a failed foreign policy that has been pursued for the last 22 years.
During a visit to Kohat, he met families of police personnel and civilians killed in a blast at the Police Lines and paid tribute to the police, counter terrorism department, Special Branch, Rescue 1122, doctors, district administration and the local community for their courage.
Afridi highlighted that the closure of the Afghan border has cost Khyber Pakhtunkhwa more than Rs8 billion in the previous financial year and that the province faces further economic losses. He said the border shutdown has disrupted trade, halted economic activity in tribal districts and allowed terrorism to rise.
He announced new financial assistance for families of victims not covered by the Shuhada Package, the installation of modern medical equipment at the District Headquarters Hospital in Kohat, the establishment of a Special Branch police station and plans to address shortages of police personnel.
