Lahore Police Arrest Key Suspect in Azeri Rape

Lahore police have arrested a key suspect in the gang‑rape of a 20‑year‑old Azeri woman who was traveling to Pakistan for business. The victim, who recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure before Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Sagheer, confirmed that she was sexually assaulted in a rented flat near Raiwind on the night between Friday and Saturday.

Deputy Inspector General (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza confirmed the arrest and said two other suspects had also been identified. Police teams are conducting raids to apprehend them, and the vehicle used in the incident has been seized. Lahore police have requested that the names of the three prime suspects be placed on the Provisional National Identification List after they fled the city.

In addition, police detained two close relatives and a domestic servant of one suspect. The case follows two earlier incidents in the Defence C police station area where foreign women were abducted and sexually assaulted.
