Foreign Woman Gang-Raped in Lahore

A 20‑year‑old Azeri woman was allegedly gang‑raped by three men in a rented flat near Raiwind on the night between Friday and Saturday. She recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure before Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Sagheer at the Cantonment Courts on Monday.

The court was secured and all unrelated persons were ordered to leave the courtroom before the proceedings began. The statement lasted more than an hour.

Defence C police registered a case against three unidentified suspects. Lahore police requested federal authorities to place the suspects on the Provisional National Identification List after they fled the city. One suspect’s location was traced to Sialkot, and police detained two relatives and a domestic servant of one suspect.

DIG Operations Faisal Kamran confirmed the suspects had been identified and that police teams were working to arrest them. The case is being investigated jointly by the Crime Control Department, operations and investigation wings, and the vehicle used in the incident has been seized.
